Cinque Terre Card 2026: prices and is it worth it

The Cinque Terre Card got more expensive in 2026, and the price now depends on the day you travel. Here are the real prices, what the card covers and when single tickets are cheaper.

There are two cards. The Cinque Terre Treno MS Card covers the local trains between Levanto and La Spezia plus the trails; the Trekking Card covers the trails only. The price now changes with the day: green (A), yellow (B) or red (C) days, red being Easter, 1 May, Ferragosto and July and August weekends.

Many blogs still quote €19.50 to €32.50. Those are the old prices. The 2026 high-season prices below apply from 14 March to 1 November 2026.

The quick answer

In 2026 a one-day Cinque Terre Treno MS Card costs an adult €22, €29.50 or €35 depending on the day band, and a child aged 4 to 11 €15 to €23.50. A single local train ticket costs €5, €8 or €10. If you will ride the train four or more times, or walk the paid coastal path, the card usually pays for itself.

How much is the Cinque Terre Card in 2026?

A one-day Treno MS Card costs an adult €22 on green days, €29.50 on yellow days and €35 on red days in the 2026 high season.

Children aged 0 to 3 travel free with a card holder. The 2-day adult card costs €36.50, €51 or €61, and the 3-day card €49, €68 or €81.

What does the Cinque Terre Treno MS Card include?

Unlimited 2nd-class regional trains between Levanto and La Spezia, including the Cinque Terre Express, plus access to the paid trails, park buses, Wi-Fi and park toilets.

It also gives reduced museum entry and access to park guided activities. It does not cover the ferry, the Intercity from Milan, or trains beyond Levanto and La Spezia. The card is in your name and non-refundable, so carry ID with it.

How much is a single train ticket between villages?

€5, €8 or €10 for a ride between any two stations from Levanto to La Spezia, depending on the day band; children aged 4 to 11 pay half.

The single ticket is the same price for one stop or the whole line, which is why short hops get expensive fast.

Is the Cinque Terre Card worth it for a day trip?

Usually, yes. A typical day from Monterosso to Vernazza, Manarola, Riomaggiore and La Spezia is four train rides, which costs the same or more in single tickets.

Four single tickets cost €20 on a green day, €32 on a yellow day and €40 on a red day, against a card at €22, €29.50 or €35. On a green day the two are almost level; on yellow and red days the card wins, and it also includes the trails and toilets. With only one or two rides, buy singles.

What is the Cinque Terre Trekking Card?

A trails-only card without trains: €10 for an adult on standard days and €15 on high-traffic days in 2026.

Children pay €7 or €10, families €27.10 or €40.20, and seniors over 70 €8.50 or €12.50. It suits hikers who walk between villages and do not need the train; most day-trippers from Milan are better off with the Treno card.

How do you get into the Via dell'Amore?

Only with a Cinque Terre Card plus a €10 supplement, and a booked time slot. There is no stand-alone ticket.

The path runs one way only, from Riomaggiore to Manarola, with at most 400 people per hour and 30 minutes to walk it. Booking hours are 9:00 to 21:00 until 24 October 2026 and 9:00 to 17:30 from 25 October. More in the hiking guide.

Where do you buy the Cinque Terre Card?

Online on the Trenitalia website or app, at Trenitalia ticket offices and machines in the stations, and at Cinque Terre National Park sales points.

Trenitalia lists ticket offices in Milan, Genoa, La Spezia and the Cinque Terre villages. Buying online before you go saves a queue at a busy station on arrival. Check which band your date falls in when you buy, because the price follows the day you use it.

What does it cost outside high season?

Less. From 3 November 2025 to 13 March 2026 the one-day adult card cost €14.80; prices from 2 November 2026 are expected to be a little higher.

One source lists about €17.30 for an adult from 2 November 2026 to 12 March 2027; check the official price before you travel. The boats stop after 1 November, so in low season the train is the only way between villages.
